Royal Literary Fund: Writing for Life

I’ve just finished working with the Royal Literary Fund (RLF), evaluating its Writing for Life  programme which places RLF Fellows in health, community and other not for profit settings. Operating across the UK, the programme aims to:

–              Support understanding of how language and written communication impact on self and others;
–              Develop skills in making life-meanings through reading, writing and conversation; and
–              Create new and purposeful connections within and across communities of interest and location

So, for the past several months I’ve spent time listening to writers and collaborating organisations reflecting on the impact that the work has had on individuals’ and organisations’ development and growth.

It’s been an absolute joy, not least because I love reading and writing and have always felt that literature should be amongst the most accessible and democratic of art forms.

I’ve rarely come across a programme of work which is held in such high esteem by all of its stakeholders.
